Dear Supporters,
Situation in Afghanistan continues to be grim as rescue efforts to bring foriegn citizens, Afghan minority communities and Afghans who worked with foreign governments and agencies perilously progress with escalating dangers.
We are working vigorously with multiple organizations and governments globally to support rescue efforts for endangered Afghan minority communities (Sikhs, Hindus & Christians). We maintain communication with Afghan minority families in Gurudwara Karte Parwan in Kabul and other locations. Their calls for rescue have taken a further sense of urgency as two former Afghan members of parliament from the Sikh community along with other related members of Sikh and Hindu community have been airlifted by Indian authorities.
The ten kilometer drive to the international airport in Kabul from Gurudwara Karte Parwan through various checkpoints is one of the biggest challenges among others in the needed rescue efforts. Few Afghan Minority members have unsuccessfully attempted to make this trip last week.
There are more than 260 Afghan citizens left at Gurudwara Karte Parwan in Kabul including women and over 50 children. This includes 3 newborns with one born yesterday.
We are in communication with governments in the United States, Canada, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Tajikistan, Iran and the United Kingdom among others. We are also in communication with international aid agencies and non-governmental organizations trying to support rescue efforts in Afghanistan. In addition our teams are communicating with companies that can execute rescue efforts on the ground in Afghanistan.
Your continued support is our anchor in these life saving efforts.
We urge you to keep writing to your Congressional Representatives and urge them to speak out for and help the terrified and helpless minority communities trapped in the Gurudwara Karte Parwan. Please write to each and every person of influence you know.
In addition we are requesting to add to the existing coalition of organizations to send a collective urgent appeal to US President J. Biden for immediate assistance for persecuted minority communities in Afghanistan.
We will keep you posted on developments as soon as concrete rescue plans have been put into action.
We have a 24 hour Helpdesk service for displaced Afghanistan minority communities.
