Farmers Protest Help Us Continue Humanitarian Assistance

Farmers Protest: Join Our Relief Mission

As farmers from Punjab and Haryana continue their  march towards Delhi, demanding fair Minimum Support Prices (MSP) and the fulfillment of commitments made by the Government of India in 2021, the situation has become increasingly turbulent. The deployment of tear gas canisters against peaceful protesters has not only escalated tensions but also led to numerous injuries, underscoring the immediate need for a humanitarian response.

At UNITED SIKHS, we are committed to serving humanity and upholding the principles of equality and justice for all, reflecting the values of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Charter of Human Rights.

Our teams have been active on the ground, particularly at the Shambhu border, offering ambulance services, medical aid to those in need and supporting the legal needs of individuals facing challenges.

The use of force, tear gas shells and rubber bullets against protesters are resulting in injuries, confusion, and chaos. In response, we have intensified our efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and legal support to those who find themselves unjustly impacted.

We recognize the complex nature of agricultural policies and their impact on farmers not just in India but globally.

The 2021 farmers’ protest tragically resulted in over 700 fatalities, as reported by Al Jazeera. Economic losses from the protest are estimated to be in several billions for a protest that lasted one year and 4 months. (Economic Times reported ₹70,000 crore ($9.4 billion) in one quarter)

We advocate for peaceful dialogue and the resolution of the farmers’ demands, ensuring that the voices of farmers are heard and that their rights to peaceful assembly and expression are respected and protected. The Government of India, as a signatory to international human rights covenants, has a responsibility to ensure the protection of these rights.

Your support enables us to continue our vital work, providing immediate aid and advocating for the rights and dignity of all individuals involved in this movement.

Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to humanity.
