75+ Organizations For Farmers Protest

Dear Supporters Jee,
UNITED SIKHS joins 75 other organizations in an open letter proclaiming solidarity with the farmers protesting in India.
Today, February 16, 2021, the New York Times published an ad regarding the protests in India and the human rights abuses being committed.  This open letter, sponsored by Justice for Migrant Women was accompanied by a powerful one-minute video that documents some of what is happening in India.
To Farmers

You have ignited one of the largest protests in human history.  From the fields of Punjab to the villages of Kerala, to the streets of New Delhi, your voices echo around the world.  Now we raise our voices in solidarity.

Mónica Ramírez, Founder and President of Justice for Migrant Women stated, “India’s response to these peaceful demonstrations run counter to the fundamental values shared by all democracies — among them freedom of expression, protest, and the press, as well as the fundamental dignity of all people — and it is time that we all lend our voices to speak against this unjust treatment with those who are fighting for their lives and livelihoods.”

UNITED SIKHS On Ground Zero

UNITED SIKHS has been on the ground helping the farmers from day one, long before the protests reached the borders of New Delhi. We continue to provide legal, medical, humanitarian and monetary aid to the protesting farmers, their families and to the families of those who have lost their lives while in this protest. We have partnered with more than 30 advocates who are actively working with the families and friends of the missing individuals. We urge you to join in supporting the constitutional rights of the farmers, who embody the best civic values of the World’s largest democracy.

We urge you to join in supporting the constitutional rights of the farmers, who embody the best civic values of the world’s largest democracy.  If you live in America, we urge you to write to your member of Congress.
