1 Crore Rupees announced for Fallen Farmers Fund

Dear Supporters Jee,
December is the month of Shahadats (martyrdoms) in the Sikh calendar. We remember sacrifices made in the service of humanity. We honor courage founded upon seeds of compassion.
The ninth Nanak, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, along with his three beloved Sikhs, travelled to Delhi in 1675 to protect civil liberties as we know them today, including religious freedom, freedom of expression and freedom of speech. This protection came at the cost of his life and those of his three beloved disciples. Later, in keeping with the struggle, his four grandsons, sons of Guru Gobind Singh, gave their life in the face of tyranny.
Keeping the spirit of service and sacrifice in mind, as the Executive Director of UNITED SIKHS I am announcing a 1 Crore Indian Rupees ($135,000 USD) Farmer Relief Fund.
This fund is to be offered exclusively to families of farmers who have lost their lives in the ongoing peaceful protests in India seeking economic justice and equitable compensatory policies.

A special message from our Executive Director
– Jagdeep Singh

December 20th, when this relief fund was made public, marks International Human Solidarity Day coinciding with United Farmer Front Homage Day. This day is centered on people & the planet, underpinned by human rights and supported by a global partnership determined to lift people out of poverty, hunger and disease.
In solidarity this month represents, we offer our homage to the farmers in India who are standing up for social and economic justice.
