ICHRA
Dear Sangat jee:
United Sikhs Advocacy team has been working tirelessly to get Sikhs counted in the 2020 Census. Now Sikhs will be counted in the 2020 Census and future census counts.
Some of you might have already filled out and submitted the census forms. Thank you for doing that.
If you have not filled out the census form, please take ten minutes of your time to perform this critical task.
Being counted is very important because it helps communities get more funding for schools, public’s housing, infrastructure and development of anti-discriminatory polices.
Visit https://2020census.gov and click the ‘Respond’ button followed by ‘Start Questionnaire’. You will need the code mailed in March to your home address. If you do not have this code, click onIf you do not have a census ID, click herewhich will prompt you for your home address.
In Section 9, Please select the box at the very bottom that says “Some other race – Print race or origin” and print “SIKH” in the space provided below.
We commissioned the creator of Sikhtoons.com, Vishavjit Singh to create an illustration for a postcard encouraging all of us to fill out the 2020 Census Form. We will be mailing these postcards to the community across the United States both in English and Punjabi.
For any questions or assistance please reach out to census@unitedsikhs.org or 1-855-878-6333 (UMEED Hotline)
Instructions for 2020 census are available in Punjabi at this pdf document link.
Be Counted and Share this message with everyone in your community circles.
